Three commission members will visit the island to learn about the structure of its two parliamentary chambers – the Tynwald, composed of elected members, and the smaller Legislative Council of elected and unelected members, which scrutinises new laws.
The Jersey delegates will also meet Chief Minister Allan Bell, Tynwald president Clare Christian and her predecessor Noel Cringle, the Speaker of the House of Keys, Steve Rodan, former Chief Minister Tony Brown, Tynwald clerk Roger Phillips and Legislative Council clerk Jonathan King.
The chairman of the Jersey commission, Sir Philip Bailhache, said that the visit would give them a better understanding of the way in which the Isle of Man works as they come to consider their proposals for reform of the States Chamber.
