A DRIVER was taken to hospital after narrowly escaping serious injuries when their Range Rover crashed into the white barriers next to the Boathouse at St Aubin’s Bay on Tuesday.

A photograph anonymously posted to a local Facebook group yesterday showed the black Range Rover hanging over the side of the barrier.

Emergency services could also be seen speaking to a gentleman seated nearby, but it is unclear if he is the driver.

Police say although no injuries were reported, the driver was taken to hospital following the incident reported at 12.45pm on 14 April.

The incident was attended by the fire service, parish police officers as well as the Ports of Jersey.

St Brelade Constable Michael Jackson, who was in the area at the time, said: “I was just coming back from town and there was lots of blue flashing lights.”

He said there was “a bit of damage to repair” needed as the vehicle collided with the part of the fencing where a ladder owned by Ports of Jersey was.

The JEP has contacted Ports of Jersey to ask what the extent of the damage is and how long repairs will take.
