A RECRUITMENT process will “commence shortly” to replace the Public Health director, who recently left the Island for Vancouver.
Professor Peter Bradley took up his post in Jersey in 2021 having previously worked for Public Health England and, before that, Public Health Wales.
Announcing his departure earlier this month, Professor Bradley said his time working in the Island had “been a privilege” but that he had “made the decision to move on”. He added that it had “been a privilege” to work in the Island and that he was “grateful for the support and collaboration of colleagues, partners, and the wider community” during his time in the role.
In an update, the Health Department confirmed that Professor Bradley left on 10 April and said that “the process to appoint a new substantive medical officer of health will commence shortly”.
“In the interim, Jersey’s Deputy Director of Public Health, Dr Andrea Sanabria, will cover Peter’s duties with support from other senior health officers.”
