JERSEY is suffering from an extreme lack of accommodation for people without housing qualifications.
Although Housing Minister Terry Le Main (pictured) says that he is concerned about the lack of accommodation for people without housing qualifications, he added: ‘No one is forcing these people to come and live and work in Jersey’.
Forty people who lost their homes and possessions in the Broadlands fire are still searching for a place to live, as most of them are foreign workers who do not have housing qualifications.
Some offers of unqualified accommodation have been made following a Housing Department appeal and more are anticipated. Senator Le Main said that Housing were doing everything they could to help the victims who had been housed in temporary Housing Department accommodation.
