A ZEBRA crossing has been approved at the junction of Seaton Place and Seale Street to improve pedestrian safety in the area.
The decision approved by Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan on Tuesday follows changes to bus routes linked to the Broad Street public realm works, which have increased traffic along nearby streets.
According to a report accompanying the ministerial decision, Infrastructure officers identified a need for better pedestrian provision at the junction, with the Parish of St Helier Roads Committee requesting a formal crossing to support safer movement.
The report said scheme is intended to improve accessibility and reflect a more “pedestrian-first” approach in line with the Highway Code.
It added that there are no additional financial or staffing implications are expected to arise from the installation.
