HARRY DOOLAN admits his dreams came true after scoring twice on his full debut for Jersey Reds.
The 20-year-old, who became the first Jersey-born player to start a Championship fixture for the club since April 2015, touched down on both sides of the half-time break against Nottingham to help the Reds to a 41-31 victory.
‘I’m so ecstatic to play for my club,’ said Doolan, who made six appearances off the bench before being handed the No.2 shirt on Friday. ‘It’s one of my dreams.
‘It was a brilliant result for the lads, but us grafting got us that result and I just wanted to do my job for the team.’
Meanwhile, Reds director of rugby, Harvey Biljon, was delighted with his side’s latest showing.
‘‘On the whole, some parts of the game were very good, but there were some individual learning points for our players,’ he said. ‘We’ve got be better to not to give away that small penalty that invites pressure. It’s making sure we have that accuracy to catch that ball and go into the holes, not turn around 60 metres. If we want to be that next-level team that continues to improve we’ve got to get that right.’
