A MAN in his 30s has been charged and remanded in custody accused of serious assaults following an alleged incident in St Helier during the early hours of Monday morning.

The police are seeking to piece together the movements of a man and a woman who were in Town Centre between approximately 11.30pm on Sunday 3 May and 2am.

The pair are believed to have moved between Library Place, Mulcaster Street, The Weighbridge and Liberty Wharf during this time.

It is understood they were involved in a disturbance during the evening, at points arguing, and there are allegations of serious assaults. The police are continuing to gather evidence in relation to the alleged incidents.

The man is described as having short dark hair and was wearing a light-coloured jumper and dark jeans or trousers. The woman has long dark hair and was wearing a black vest top and light blue jeans.

In particular, the force has said it would like to thank a member of security staff from Lib in the Square who raised concerns at the time and would like to speak to this person further. Officers are also keen to speak to a woman who helped the woman involved on Mulcaster Street at around 1.15am, escorting her away from the man and into Chambers. She is described as wearing a black puffer jacket, white trousers, and having a distinctive light blue or white scrunchie or bow in her hair.

Anyone with information, dashcam footage, CCTV, or mobile phone recordings from the area are asked to contact police on 612612 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting reference M02962/2026.
