PASSENGERS travelling from Jersey will be able to eat and drink at a brand new bar and kitchen from 2027, after Ports of Jersey announced the eventual departure of Café Ubé with the development of the departure terminal.

The States-owned body revealed that it had entered a “long-term partnership” with London-based TRG Concessions, which it hopes will “enhance Jersey Airport’s food and beverage experience”.

From early 2027, TRGC will introduce a brand-new flagship called The Shoreline Café Bar & Kitchen, which has been inspired by Jersey’s coastline, community and local character, according to Ports.

It is the latest announcement as Jersey Airport’s departure lounge prepares to undergo a major transformation. Last month Ports revealed their designs for a modernised space, which was designed with the help of several local agencies and charities.

Preparatory work has already begun, with construction due to commence in February and the first phase expected to open in summer 2026 – with the whole new departure lounge completed by summer 2027.

Earlier this summer, the No1 Lounge for paying passengers also opened on the Airport’s first-floor atrium.

The Shoreline Café Bar & Kitchen will accommodate a 228-seater restaurant available to all passengers, with a full hot-food menu that features local ingredients.

The eatery will also contain a serviced bar and ‘grab and go’ options for time pressed passengers.

Ports of Jersey confirmed existing Jersey Potteries staff will transfer to TRGC upon its implementation in 2027. Café Ubé will operate as usual until then.

The States-owned firm also thanked Jersey Potteries for its “valued contribution”, including their “vital support” during the pandemic.

Following the latest announcement for a revamped airport with TRGC, Ports of Jersey chief executive, Matt Thomas, said: “This partnership gives us the opportunity to elevate the airport experience, champion local suppliers and deliver a hospitality offering that genuinely reflects our island identity.

Kirsten Pottinger, commercial director of TRGC, added: “We’re thrilled to work with Ports of Jersey on The Shoreline Café Bar & Kitchen.

“Its menu, service and design are all crafted to capture the true heart of Jersey, enriching the airport’s transformation and creating a memorable welcome for travellers for years to come,” he added.

“We can’t wait to bring this vision to life with our partners and the Airport team.”
