It was raised by the country’s Communities Secretary, Eric Pickles, outside the Department for Communities and Local Government headquarters to mark Jersey’s and the Channel Islands’ liberation from Nazi Occupation 69 years ago.

The flag was presented to Mr Pickles by Jersey’s Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf at a special ceremony on Thursday. And it is now possible that the Island’s flag will be flown over Whitehall on 9 May every year to mark Liberation Day.
