Senator Ozouf was in the country last week attending a conference of Commonwealth finance ministers, and as part of the visit he held a series of meetings with key financial figures in the Japanese government and in commercial sectors.

‘I spent a lot of time and held more than a dozen meetings with key people from the government and the finance industry there,’ he said.

Senator Ozouf said that the Island was a co-vice-chairman along with Japan of the global forum on transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes. ‘As such, we were warmly welcomed by the Japanese finance ministry,’ he added.
