THE historic Le Moulin de Quétivel in St Peter’s Valley – with its working waterwheel – is hosting its first second-hand book sale this week.

The event has been organised by the National Trust for Jersey and will raise funds for its work. It begins today (Tuesday) and runs through to Sunday, 10am until 1pm.

National Trust operations director Annette Blanchet said: “Second-hand books are so often associated with heritage organisations, and we know that Jersey is an island of book-lovers.

“Putting the two together for a week seemed like the perfect idea. We hope it will encourage both our regular visitors and those who may not have visited the Mill before to pop in and experience its lovely charm, with the opportunity to browse through the books and enjoy a lovely cup of tea in the café or sunny herb garden, not forgetting a slice of one of our famous homemade cake.”

Admission to the sale is free. Tours of the Mill, for a small charge, are available as usual from today until Saturday.
