The Friday nationals are being delivered by sea and are due to be in the shops tomorrow morning. Contingency plans are also in place to get tomorrow’s papers to Jersey by boat if flights are grounded for a third day. If that is the case, the Saturday papers should arrive in the shops early on Sunday morning.

With Jersey Airport closed, there was travel misery for hundreds of Islanders and visitors yesterday who spent hours queuing at the Harbour in an effort to get away. So far, it has been announced that planes will not fly until 1 am tomorrow at the earliest.

• Today’s Jersey Evening Post will be published at noon with full reports on the disruption and latest travel information.
