The company originally wanted to build 73 houses but Environment Minister Freddie Cohen did not pass eight of the homes planned for the countryside zone.

He wants to view the area first and made it clear at a recent Planning meeting that he would consider only plans for ‘substantially less than eight’ houses.

Dandara bought the 5½-acre site at Five Oaks in July last year for £8.5 million and will build a mixture of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes.
