JERSEY junior athlete Felicity Johnson-Deeley has followed a fantastic 10km win over former county senior champion Jo Gorrod with a gold medal at Hampshire level.
Johnson-Deeley won the U17 cross country at the Hampshire County Championships this weekend – despite still being 15, and running her first event in this age group.
There was a silver for Chloe Turmel at U15 level, in her first trip to the championships, and team mate Danielle Leerson, who won silver last year, finished fourth. Lauren Lowe also ran well to place sixth in the U13 age group. All four girls have achieved selection to the county team who will compete in the Inter-County Championships later this year.
In the U13 boys, Oliver Terry took bronze to secure his place in the county squad, as did U15 runner Elliott Dorey – a previous county champion at U13 level – who finished fourth.
