ASA TRIBE has been selected in the 15-man England Lions squad for their upcoming series against South Africa A.

Tribe, 22, has been tipped for higher honors in recent months after impressing for both Glamorgan and on the previous Lions tour of Australia adjacent to the Ashes over the winter.

With England test opener Zak Crawley’s fall from favour, Tribe’s name was heavily linked with taking that opening spot alongside the likes of Emilio Gay, James Rew and Ben McKinney for England’s opening test of the summer against New Zealand.

With Gay and Rew receiving the nod, Tribe and McKinney will join forces again for the Lions as they will look to impress again taking on South Africa A in two four-day matches.

Warwickshire’s Dan Mousley will captain the team which will play at Arundel (May 22-25) and Beckenham (May 29-June 1).
