The youngsters not only won the U18 boys title, but topped them all with the Open men’s championship, when he pushed his older cousin, Ben Chapman, into the runners-up spot. The elder Chapman did, however, have his own considerable consolation in winning the senior men’s CI title.

There was excellent swell conditions for the running of the competition, organised by the Jersey Surfboard Club, in St Ouen’s Bay, with the spectators viewing some great action.
