DO you recognise these Guineas? That’s the question from the Animals’ Shelter, as it confirmed that none of the stray guinea pigs rescued near Devil’s Hole last week were fitted with microchips.
The JSPCA said that a total of eight of the rodents had been taken into their care after being found in St Mary on Tuesday.
The group consisted of six females and two males. None of the animals were fitted with microchips, making it difficult to trace an owner.
The Shelter is now appealing to Islanders for help in identifying where the four-legged creatures may have come from.
Photographs shared by the charity on social media show the guinea pigs in a range of colours and markings, including brown, black-and-white and tan varieties.
A JSPCA spokesperson said anyone who believes the guinea pigs could belong to them, or who has information about how they ended up in the area, should contact the charity.
Islanders are asked to call 01534 724331 if they can assist with the investigation.
