Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were allegedly assaulted in St Helier during the early morning.

Officers said the alleged assault was reported to have taken place between 4.30am and 5.10am on Sunday 8 March at the junction of Midvale Road, Val Plaisant and David Place.

They said that the two alleged victims were walking down Midvale Road near the Midvale Road car park when they were approached by two other men and one was punched in the face.

The alleged attack was said to have continued on Val Plaisant, with the two suspects reported to have “punched, kicked and kneed” the pair of man while they were on the ground.

Police described the two suspects as men in their 20s with short brown hair, adding that both were wearing dark clothing.

One was described as being of skinny build and approximately 6ft tall, while the second was of medium build and around 5ft 8in tall.
