A CHARITY supporting Islanders with brain injuries is hosting a fundraising cake sale tomorrow.
The sale for Headway Jersey will be at Communicare in St Brelade between 9am and 12pm.
This event has been organised by Emily Le Beuvant, a volunteer fundraiser for the charity, who will also be running for them in the London Marathon 2026.
Nikolett Jones, who manages marketing and income generation for Headway, explained that Emily’s dedication to the charity is deeply personal.
Emily’s partner, Wayne, was just 40-years-old and an active runner when he suffered a stroke caused by a blockage in his brain, while running a 5km race in St Helier. He underwent surgery at Southampton Hospital which ultimately saved his life.
Nikolett said: “Emily’s fundraising is driven by gratitude and lived experience. She has seen first-hand the importance of rehabilitation, community and specialist support for brain injury survivors.”
The cake sale is to raise “vital” funds for the services Headway Jersey deliver, including rehabilitation programmes, and significantly, support for the charity’s bus service.
The Headway Jersey Bus is described as a “lifeline”, that allows members to get to and from the centre, to access social interaction, therapy, and rehabilitation.
