MORE than 20 unique events will feature in the Liberation International Music Festival, which begins today and runs until 18 May.
The festival, which is being staged for the 18th time and is organised by Music in Action, promises to bring together world-class international artists and local talent across performances, workshops, and community outreach.
A Liberation Day concert at Jersey Opera House, featuring Sir Willard White alongside the Jersey Chamber Orchestra, will provide an early highlight with a celebratory programme featuring British melodies, Broadway hits, and timeless classics.
Outreach events include a range of performances at schools and care homes, while on Sunday 17 May the Hougue Bie Festival of Music and Poetry will combine live music and poetry in one of the Island’s most historic and atmospheric locations.
Money raised from ticket sales supports Music in Action’s work, which in 2025 reached over 6,000 children, supported 64 bursary students, delivered more than 150 workshops, and brought music into over 30 care homes.
