A PIZZA delivery company has been ordered to pay a former delivery driver almost £4,000 in compensation for unpaid wages, and a lack of contract and payslips.
The Employment and Discrimination Tribunal heard that Jordan Haynes was employed by Alvin’s Hot Stuff Pizza from 7 September to 18 October 2025, working around 25 hours a week at £14 per hour.
Mr Haynes told the tribunal he stopped working after he had not been paid for any of the 138 hours he had completed.
He was owed £1,932 in wages, although he later received £200 in cash. The tribunal ordered the pizza company to pay the remaining £1,732 for unpaid wages.
Mr Haynes also brought claims for not being provided with a written contract or payslips during his time working for Alvin’s Hot Stuff Pizza.
The tribunal said the absence of both had placed him in an “uncertain position”, particularly when trying to evidence income for benefits and tax purposes.
He was awarded £996 for the lack of a contract and a further £996 for not receiving payslips, bringing the total award to £3,724.
