ALL three emergency services were called to Wellington Hill today after a motorbike caught fire.
A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital with “serious injuries” following the incident, which took place at around 1.50pm on Saturday 14 June.
In an appeal for information, the States police said a red Ducati Monster was accelerating up the hill near the entrance to Beaulieu School.
The rider allegedly lost control, fell off, and collided with parking bollards – resulting in his motorbike catching fire.
No other vehicles or people were involved in the incident, according to the force.
The rider was treated by paramedics before being transported to the Emergency Department.
Police said his injuries are “serious but stable”, and he remains in hospital.
The area was closed to traffic for three hours.
Officers would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the incident or has any information, including dash cam footage or private premises CCTV.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the States police on 612612, the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via the anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
