Queen Elizabeth II at WI meeting (34192876)

THE Chief Minister has written a letter of condolence to His Majesty The King.

In her message to King Charles, Deputy Kristina Moore wrote: ‘With my humble duty, on behalf of the government of Jersey, I would like to express my profound sympathies on the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

‘Her Majesty’s many years of devoted public service as the longest reigning sovereign of the British Isles will leave a permanent imprint on the national character. This will be felt particularly acutely in Jersey given our Island’s long standing connection and loyal allegiance to the Crown. Throughout her reign, Her Majesty was an inspiration to many Islanders.

‘Her Majesty had visited the Island on six occasions, including most recently during the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of Jersey from German occupation.

‘Please accept my deepest condolences on behalf of the government of Jersey and this small Island nation of loyal servants to the Corwn whom we are honoured to represent

‘I have the honour to remain, Sir, your Majesty’s most humble and obedient servant.’
