Andy Howell will stand in District 3

A FORMER dentist has announced that she is going to stand for election in District 3, which covers St John, St Lawrence and Trinity.

Andy Howell, a mother of three, said that if she was elected as Deputy, she would focus on working to improve the health system, make housing more affordable while protecting green fields and bettering the lives of children and vulnerable residents.

Mrs Howell, the wife of GP John Howell, said she wanted to ‘ensure positive change within our healthcare system so that our frontline staff are cherished and patient care is the number-one priority’.

She added that she would listen to Islanders and work collaboratively, aiming to be part of ‘a government that is open, transparent and accountable; one which makes sensible and sound financial decisions so that we live within our means and make positive choices for the future’.

Mrs Howell said she was dedicated to voluntary work, with her work including delivering for Meals on Wheels.

She has also been a parent governor for Jersey College for Girls and a president of the Helvetia Division of Jersey’s St John Ambulance.
