Passengers on the Blue Islands flight, which was scheduled to depart at 7.55 am bound for Guernsey, were led off the aircraft by cabin crew.

A spokesperson on behalf of Ports of Jersey said the incident involved the Blue Islands flight at stand six and that smoke had been reported in the cockpit at 8.15 am after the plane started up.

Jersey Airport’s Fire and Rescue Service sent their crew and two fire trucks to the scene and the 45 people on board were all taken to wait in Blue Islands’ lounge whilst engineers looked at the aircraft.
