A total of 198 passengers were affected by Saturday’s cancellations and today 141 people – including 71 inter-island passengers – are not able to sail because of the disruption.
However, Condor Ferries, which operates the service, hopes that the Clipper will be ready to sail again on Monday morning.
‘Our engineers have been working tirelessly through the night but the cold temperatures have slowed their progress,’ said Fran Collins, executive director of operations at Condor Ferries.
‘We are optimistic that Clipper will be ready to sail by early Monday morning and we’re continuing to provide passengers who have been significantly delayed yesterday and today with overnight accommodation and food, in accordance with the EU passenger directive.’
She said that freight supplies were continuing on Commodore Goodwill ferry.
