Moonlight Parade in pictures

The carnival queen was Miss Battle, Holly Pechard, who was again joined by her celebrity Mr Battle, Dancing On Ice and X Factor star Ray Quinn.

The first Moonlight Parade was held in 1990. It was originally a smaller event, just featuring some of the smaller floats on the same evening as the main parade. However, it soon became so popular that the larger floats and bands wanted to join in too and it became a separate event in its own right and was moved to the Friday evening.
