Team captain Mark Gilmour said it was a fine win and he was delighted with the team’s performance and 14-year-old Eva Hurst in particular as the teenager – like Gilmour – returned with three wins out of three in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Gilmour said: ‘Everyone contributed to the win and Eva’s performance was outstanding for a player so young and that did surprise me.

‘Eva was the only women’s player to win in the singles section and with Jersey’s men winning 3-1 it was 4-4 after the singles sections and all to play for.
