Earlier this month it was announced that Hugh Raymond’s role as CI tennis development manager and the administrative officer’s job came to an end on 31 March. Raymond has continued in a voluntary role with the LTA.
However, Caroline Blincoe, head of county and club relations for the LTA, insisted that the restructuring does not mean a funding cut for CI tennis but will allow the islands to access specialist resources based in England.
She believes the move could, in fact, increase the budget for CI tennis and added that a refurbishment of Grainville Tennis Club is in the pipeline while talks to develop further sites are also under way.
