Jersey team can only sit and wait

Just one win at the weekend would have been enough to ensure they remained at this level next season however, it wasn’t to be. On Saturday they lost 10-5 to second-placed Suffolk as their problem of losing three-set matches continued with only one of six converted into a win, meaning that they took no points from the rubber.

Jersey captain Kerry Coombs-Goodfellow continued her excellent run of form, winning all four of her matches, with Lindsey Woodward, Alex Hutchings, and Gavin Carter winning two of theirs.

In Sunday’s vital battle with bottom-placed Hertfordshire, who Jersey had beaten earlier in the season, the Island side went down 9-6.
