The 24-year-old, who works in communications for Telesol, has been drawn against Northern Ireland international Morray Dolan in the last four of the tournament to be played in Belfast on 5 March.
Alexander said: ‘I received an invite into the tournament because there was a space. It came because one of the players knew that I had beaten a professional player in the Channel Islands International a few years ago.
‘I thought why not and what a weekend I had. I certainly didn’t expect it but I won my four-player group with 5-1, 5-2 and 5-0 score lines. I was then into the knock-out rounds and I had further successes winning 6-2, 7-1 and 7-4.’
