George Pearmain, an Exeter university law graduate, was sentenced to doing unpaid work in the community to try to ‘knock some of the arrogance’ out of him.

His career is in jeopardy after the university, who also fined him £200, are now reviewing whether he is entitled to pass his law degree.

The 23-year-old pleaded guilty at Exeter Crown Court to assaulting bar manager William Brigden at a bar on the university’s campus in St David’s on June 14 last year.
