CHRIS Guccione – the Australian tennis player seeded top in next week’s ATP Men’s Challenger at Les Ormes – could be coming into the competition on the back of a big result in Bratislava.

Guccione, who is currently ranked 100 in the world, has reached the last eight of the Slovakian ATP Challenger and could stand to win 106,500 euros prize money if he wins the event.

Guccione could also see his world ranking dramatically improve, which would put him further ahead of Russian Evgeny Korolev, who has made a last minute bid to enter next week’s tournament.

The qualifying rounds for the men’s tournament take place on Sunday at 10.30 am, and qualifying for the women’s $10,000 tournament take place on Monday. The main competition will start on Tuesday, with the men’s games to be played on Tuesday and Thursday, followed by the women’s games on Wednesday and Friday.
