THE Jersey Hash Half Marathon has attracted one of its biggest entries in the last ten years with 370 runners already signed up to take part.
The event, known also as Jersey’s Fantastic North Run, starts in St John at 9 am tomorrow and there are 95 visiting runners entered. Some of the Island’s top athletes are set to compete, including leading distance runner Jo Gorrod in the ladies’ race. She will be put to the test by last year’s runner up and Island Games silver medallist Amanda Brown, while Nikki Neal is travelling over from Alderney for the challenge and 1989 winner, Barbara Parker, also features.
Andy Murfin, winner of the Andy Coughlin Memorial Ten Mile Race, has entered the men’s race and he faces competition from Liverpool Harriers’ Peter Green, a runner up two years ago.
It’s not just the half marathon that has proven popular as there have been over 100 entries for the junior two mile race which starts at 9.45 am in St Ouen.
