Senator Syvret says that Senator Frank Walker is attempting to isolate him so that he has no chance of beating the vote of no confidence in the States on 11 September. His comments come after Senator Ben Shenton announced that he was taking up the post of assistant minister following the resignation of Deputy Celia Scott Warren. But Senator Walker said he would not ratify the appointment with just two weeks to go before the vote of no confidence debate. In an e-mail to all Health and Social Services staff Senator Syvret says that the Chief Minister’s decision is not in the public interest because it hampers his work as Health Minister.
