However, he said that he could see the merits of, and would not necessarily oppose, selling St Saviour’s Hospital, much of which is currently not being used. As reported in Thursday’s JEP, the minister has confirmed that the future use of both sites is up for review this summer, but says that Overdale would remain an important part of future plans for Health. Health chief executive Mike Pollard said that the future use of both Overdale and St Saviour’s was up for discussion, but Senator Syvret made it clear that there were no plans to sell the Westmount site. ‘Selling Overdale is not even on the radar screen,’ he said. ‘The ultimate arbiter is the States on this question. Certainly, I am not aware that any of my current ministerial colleagues would attempt to sell any part of the Overdale site.’
