Brown (18), who has gone to study at the International Junior Golf Academy in South Carolina, headed a field of 155 as he fired a three-under-par 68 and then a 73 to win by 8 shots at the famous Harbour Town links.

His triumph comes soon after he beat many of the top players in the Channel Islands to take the La Moye Trophy this summer.

Piers de Gruchy, another La Moye youngster who is also a student at the academy, finished 11th in a similar competition in Florida at the weekend.

Both youngsters represented Jersey in the NatWest Island Games in Shetland this summer.
