He says that G R Langlois Ltd’s applications for 37 homes to replace (or be built to the rear of) five properties in Route de la Hougue Bie will change the nature of a quiet rural area.
‘This is just shoehorning in a massive estate and it has the makings of a village which will irrevocably change the image of the environment,’ he said.
The planning applications sub-committee met on site on 23 March to be greeted by the Deputy and objecting residents.
The proposals being considered by the sub-committee of Deputies Jacqui Huet and Mike Taylor and the chairman, Deputy Jerry Dorey, came in the form of two related applications.
The first concerned demolishing Sarum to build 18 three-bedroom houses and converting The Cottage into a two three-bedroom units.
The second proposed building 17 units of accommodation in place of outbuildings to the rear of La Vielle Davisonnerie, La Grande Davisonnerie and La Nouvelle Davisonnerie.
It also included a change of use of Field 590 from agricultural to amenity and to form a new access.
