They have been competing in the Victoria Open Prize meet by way of a warm-up, with team manager Cliff Mallett jnr finishing eighth in the Queen’s Prize shoot.

Mallett, Mary Norman, Alex Langley, and David Le Quesne who now lives in Australia, took on some of Australia and New Zealand’s 2006 Commonwealth Games qualifying shooters in the Open, plus a number of the top shooters from the British Isles.

In the grand aggregate, Mallett led the way for the British Isles, finishing 17th overall with a score of 687 with 70 v-bulls, and the second-highest-placed veteran in the competition.

Le Quesne finished in 47th place with 683.59 points while Norman, who has not fired in Australia for 20 years, scored 678.54 points for 68th place.

Alex Langley finished in 89th place with a score of 672.58.

Mallett again led the way for Britain in the Victoria Queen’s prize, finishing eighth with a score of 395.36v.

The winner was Australian James Corbet, a past Commonwealth Games medallist.

Alex Langley placed 82nd (388.35), Norman scored 388.33 to finish 85th and Le Quesne was 97th (387.30).
