The firm withdrew an application with the Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities last year to acquire all 16 stores in the Island after concerns were raised that competition would be reduced.
Their revised application does not include Costcutter stores in St Ouen, St John and Green Island.
Michael Byrne, CICRA chief executive, said that the watchdog had looked carefully at the previous application and ‘found there were risks consumers could be less well served if the transaction went through as originally intended’.
CICRA is due to consider the new application and aims to complete phase one of the review over the next five weeks.
