Driving ban for owner of ‘handbrake-turn’ car

The 19 year old , of Rue des Prés, St Saviour, admitted permitting the youngster to drive his silver Renault Clio on the night of 4 August last year.

He was also fined £200 for possessing a small piece of the class B drug cannabis on 18 September in the car park of Elim Rock Church in Plat Douet Road in St Saviour.

Earlier this month, the 17-year-old girl – who did not have a licence and had never driven a car before – admitted dangerous driving and driving without a licence and without insurance.

She was sentenced to 130 hours of community service – the equivalent of six months in custody – and was banned from driving for a year.
