The body, which represents hoteliers, restaurateurs and others in the industry, spoke out after it was announced this week that a new waste charge could be levied on Island firms for solid- and liquid-waste disposal starting from 2018. The proposal was unveiled this week by the Council of Ministers in its newly published Medium Term Financial Plan Addition, which is due to be debated by the States in the autumn.
