But industry leaders say that the charge is more than what it costs for a passport and many of those who have to pay are only in Jersey for a matter of weeks.
The president of the Jersey Hospitality Association, Ian Barnes, said that £75 was a lot of money for someone starting work and that some employers paid the fee for the staff members.
