A total of 151 people were nominated across the 13 categories, with more than 27,000 votes cast by the public to choose their finalists. A panel of judges specially convened for each category then selected a winner for each of the awards.
The finalists – three in each category – were due to attend tonight’s awards ceremony at Le Manoir de Rooster in Trinity – the home of potato exporter Albert Bartlett – to hear the winners being announced.
Hosted by former England international footballer Graeme Le Saux and Jersey-born soprano Georgi Mottram, the awards include for the first time a Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year.
