The warning, issued by Jersey Met on Friday morning, advises against outside activity.
Winds are expected to reach gale-force eight to severe-gale force nine by mid-morning, and possibly storm-force ten with gusts to 70 mph.
An orange thunderstorm warning – the second highest level of alert – has also been issued.
Wet and windy weather is expected to continue until at least Sunday.
