Captain calls on Team Jets to get 'brave and bolshie'

TEAM JETS captain Lauren Devine has stressed the need for her side to show courage in the second half of the Premier League 3 season, as fears of a second-straight relegation begin to surface.

Sunday’s 49-39 loss against Cumberland represents a sixth consecutive league defeat for the Islanders – their worst run since storming onto the national stage in 2014 – and they remain five points off safety with just one victory to their name since September.

‘We’ve got to be brave now … brave and bolshie,’ said Devine – Jets' player of the match in their latest defeat.

‘We’ve tried to stick to being safe. Maybe now it’s about doing some rotations, trying new combinations and most importantly enjoying it.'
