Captain calls on Team Jets to get ‘brave and bolshie’

Sunday’s 49-39 loss against Cumberland represents a sixth consecutive league defeat for the Islanders – their worst run since storming onto the national stage in 2014 – and they remain five points off safety with just one victory to their name since September.

‘We’ve got to be brave now … brave and bolshie,’ said Devine – Jets’ player of the match in their latest defeat.

‘We’ve tried to stick to being safe. Maybe now it’s about doing some rotations, trying new combinations and most importantly enjoying it.’
