THE nominees for the DFDS Jersey Cricket Awards have been confirmed ahead of next week’s presentation evening.

The event, celebrating the standout performers from across the men’s domestic game, will be held on Friday, 6 February at The Royal Yacht Hotel, with former England spinner and commentator Graeme Swann appearing as the special guest.

Nine awards will be presented, covering all divisions of men’s domestic cricket during the 2025 season.

The headline prize, Jersey Cricketer of the Year, will be contested by four players who impressed across the leagues, including reigning holder James Duckett.

The Old Victorians captain has put together a strong case to retain the award after a productive all-round season. Duckett claimed 13 wickets with his off-spin and scored 272 runs, highlighted by a superb 116 from 96 balls against Wanderers Irregulars at the College Field in the Channel Island League.

Also shortlisted is Jersey international and St Ouen Springfield skipper Harrison Carlyon. The off-spinning all-rounder enjoyed another consistent campaign, taking 16 economical wickets while adding 180 runs.

Farmers Caesareans are represented by young all-rounder Will Perchard, who earns his nomination after a standout season with the ball. The seamer finished with 18 wickets across the domestic programme and also contributed 124 runs.

Completing the shortlist is teenage fast-bowling all-rounder Barney Aston, who enjoyed a breakthrough year. At just 17, Aston finished as the Premier Division’s leading wicket-taker with 21 wickets and added 110 runs with the bat.

St Ouen Springfield team-mate Luke Bosio (left) is also nominated after an excellent campaign with the ball. The left-arm seamer claimed 20 wickets, including his maiden five-wicket haul in the Premier Division against Old Victorians.

Farmers Caesareans batsman Jack Kemp is recognised following a prolific season across club and Jersey fixtures, amassing 414 runs.

Rounding off the young player nominees is St Ouen Springfield’s Harry Brasher, who earns his first nomination after returning 18 wickets and scoring 124 runs during the campaign.
