JERSEY Bulls Women are back on the road this weekend, travelling to ninth-placed Molesey Athletic on Sunday at 1pm as they look to continue the near-flawless form that has defined their debut season in the national pyramid.
On paper, the two sides enter the fixture heading in entirely different directions. Molesey have conceded 35 goals and scored just ten in their opening matches, while the Bulls have registered an extraordinary 42 at the other end, conceding only seven.
The contrast in both defensive stability and attacking output has been stark, and the league table reflects it. The Bulls sit clear and confident in the top six picture, while their hosts remain toward the bottom of the table.
Manager Chad Morris says the message remains consistent, particularly after last weekend’s ruthless 7-0 victory over Hersham, explaining: “We try to come out the blocks really fast. We did that last week and it seems to be working.”
That early intensity has become a defining trademark of the side, the Bulls have regularly killed games inside the opening half-hour.
Their next five fixtures will determine final positioning before the mid-season league split, but the Bulls already look firmly on course to secure their place in the top six and potentially shape the competition once the division reforms.
Morris has also moved to strengthen his options this week, handing a call-up to Taylor Smythe after her positive displays for Jersey Wanderers at a local level. The manager believes her versatility makes her an ideal fit for the Bulls’ system, stating: “She can play anywhere down the left-hand side, which is good.”
Squad availability remains an unavoidable part of the equation too. Captain Holly Sundby is absent, along with goalkeeper Chantelle Renouard, meaning Smythe and Ana Malta step in.
Morris is pleased with the contribution to goals from his players in all areas of the pitch, saying: “A positive for our season so far is how well we have shared out the goals. Leah [Morris], Holly [Sundby], Anita [Tavares] and Sam [Silva-Pinto] have all contributed very well.”
That balance has made the Bulls one of the division’s most difficult sides to prepare for. Anita Tavares has been in prolific form with 11 goals and ten assists already.

The wider context only amplifies the significance of what the Bulls are attempting. The last team in this division to complete a season unbeaten were Leatherhead, who achieved promotion with 15 wins and a single draw.
The Bulls’ early trajectory suggests that the achievement is not unrealistic, but sustaining that level requires consistency not only against top-six rivals but in fixtures such as this one, away to a side fighting for stability.
For Morris’ side, the challenge is less about reinvention and more about maintaining their recent form with the head coach expecting intensity from the outset.
As the league’s halfway point approaches, the Bulls are well placed to make this a season of real significance and another composed, disciplined performance on Sunday would only strengthen the case.
