JERSEY football returned this weekend as goals flew in across all divisions, marking an exciting restart to the domestic season.
From dramatic comebacks to commanding wins, the Island’s pitches were alive with action as teams looked to lay down early markers in their respective title races.
Premiership 2
Sporting Academics First extended their fine scoring form with a 5–3 home victory over Trinity First, moving level on points with Rozel Rovers at the top of the table.
A second hat-trick of the season from in-form striker Diogo Franca proved decisive, as Accies continued their strong start to the campaign.
The contest was tightly poised at the break, with goals from Jamie Savory and James Walsh giving the hosts a narrow 2–1 advantage. However, a dominant second-half display, led by Franca’s clinical finishing, saw Sporting Academics pull clear to secure all three points.
Trinity battled hard throughout, finding the net through Harry Henderson, Gabriel Medeiros, and Layton Tucker, but were ultimately undone by the home side.
The other Premiership 2 fixture saw Sports Club of Jersey win 4-1 away to Dragoes de Jersey at Springfield Stadium.
Sports Club lead at by one at half-time, Nuno De Sousa’s opener was cancelled out by Emanuel Barros and Clife Silva.
Yordanis Lopez made an impact from the bench to secure three points for the away team. Sports Club remain in pursuit of the top spots as they trail by three points whilst Dragoes de Jersey are still in search of their first win of the season.
Championship 1
The only Championship 1 fixture this weekend had more than enough to make up for the lack of league action.
St Brelade Reserves completed an excellent comeback to win 4-3 after trailing 2-0 at home to St Peter Reserves. The comeback marked St Brelade’s first win of the campaign.
Lewis Steel and Jack Guille shot St Peter into a 2-0 lead after half an hour, but Alex Kilpatrick was quick to reply.
Kilpatrick netted a 25-minute hat-trick, scoring two before half time and his third just ten minutes after the restart. Jack Gibson added to the Fish’s tally to put the hosts out of sight. Guille netted his second late on but the Crosskeys ultimately fell short.
Championship 2
St Ouen’s C kept the pressure on league leaders St Paul’s Reserves with a dominant 6–0 victory over St John Reserves.

A first-half strike from Joel Vieira gave St Ouen’s a narrow lead at the break, before they ran riot in the second half. Vieira went on to complete his hat-trick, continuing the weekend’s theme of trebles across the divisions.
Kacper Smilek, Jack Happer, and Luca Macaione also found the net as St Ouen’s recorded their fourth win in five matches.
The result sets up a top of the table clash next weekend, when they take on St Paul’s Reserves in what could prove a pivotal early-season encounter.
St Paul’s one hundred percent record was stunted as Trinity Reserves held the side to a 1-1 draw. Criag Leitch opened the scoring in the first half for St Paul’s, but a response from Liam Irwin after 55 minutes levelled the playing field.
Finally, First Tower United hosted Rozel Rovers Reserves in an eight-goal thriller that ended in a draw. First Tower denied Rozel of their first win of the campaign as the two teams played out a 4-4 draw.
Calum Peacock and Harmon Onyango were on the scoresheet to push First Tower into third place with two wins and a draw from six games.
