OLD VICTORIANS eased to a 31-run victory over Nondescripts to win this year’s S E Guy Memorial Trophy at Grainville on Friday night.

Batting first, OVs put up a score of 119 in the 12-over per innings match which Nondescripts never looked likely to chase in.

Sam Watling was the player of the match, scoring an unbeaten 47, while George Moore stuck a quick-fire 30 along the way. Jomon George (3 for 19) did his best to keep OVs score down in the attack for Nondescripts, especially in the opening exchanges, but it was to no avail.

In reply, Stuart Watson struck an unbeaten 48 for Nondescripts that, on paper, gave them some hope, but, crucially, the required run-rate fell short, despite only losing two wickets along the way, and OVs saw the game through with relative ease to lift the trophy.
